Channing Tatum's Gambit Movie Finally in Sight After Years of Delay

Unproduced Superhero Film May Finally See Light of Day

After languishing in development hell for years, Channing Tatum's Gambit movie may finally have a chance to get made within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film, which is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, has been in limbo since 2014, with various directors and writers attached to the project.

A Talented Cast and Crew

If the film does get made, it will star Channing Tatum as the titular Gambit, a Cajun mutant with the power to manipulate kinetic energy. The cast also includes Lizzy Caplan as Belladonna Boudreaux, Gambit's love interest, and Daniel Craig as Mister Sinister, the film's main antagonist. The film is rumored to be directed by Steven Soderbergh, who previously directed Tatum in the "Magic Mike" films.

The script for the film has been written by Reid Carolin, who also wrote "Magic Mike" and "Logan." Carolin's involvement in the project is a promising sign, as he has a proven track record of writing successful and critically acclaimed films.

A Long and Winding Road

The Gambit movie has had a long and winding road to production. It was first announced in 2009, with Doug Liman attached to direct. However, the project was delayed several times, and Liman eventually left the film in 2015. Gore Verbinski replaced Liman as director, but he also left the project in 2016.

In 2017, Tatum confirmed that the Gambit movie was still in development, but no further updates were given until 2020, when it was reported that Soderbergh was in talks to direct the film. With Tatum's recent comments, it seems that the Gambit movie may finally be ready to move forward.
